I have always loved nursery rhymes. We had the most beautiful nursery rhyme book growing up. I remember the front cover torn off because we read it so much. I remember loving the pictures. I really hope that it is somewhere at Grandma's house in Kanab. I have searched the internet over for it, but cannot find anything even close.
Once in a while, I will post some of the nursery rhymes that I say to you every day. I read in a book that it is good for infants to hear things that rhyme. It plants the seeds for good speech development. Ok! So I have been spending a little time each day saying nursery rhymes to you that I remember.
About a month before you were born, I went to a great little used book store in downtown Salt Lake. In the small nursery rhyme book section, I found this nice book. It's more of a poetry book, but it has some nice verses that I will learn for you. Some are a little strange, and some a little long-we won't be learning those. Here is one that I memorized for you today...I imagine saying it to you in about 3 years or so:)
Little miss muffet
sat on a tuffet
eating her curds and whey
Along came a spider
who sat down beside her
and frightened miss muffet away
ps. did you know that curds is referring to cottage cheese, and whey is the liquid of cottage cheese if you take the curds out?
